Event Brief

Tactical Data Link (TDL) has been the key to provide integrated information networks and applications, to facilitate situational awareness and real-time information exchange across different combat environment.
As technology and intelligence advances over the years, certain data links will become obsolete and is no longer fully functional in today’s battlespace environment. MoD is constantly researching and developing higher TDL capabilities to enhance network and mission management in an operation.
However, while TDL has proven to be an efficient and preferred mode of realtime communication, its operational environment has proven to be a complex and challenging one. Users have to constantly

bear in mind that TDL can only operate using a common parameters to achieve full functionality or risk failure in transmitting critical information during a mission.
