Tactical Data Link (TDL) has been the key to provide integrated information networks and applications, to facilitate situational awareness and real-time information exchange across different combat environment.
As technology and intelligence advances over the years, certain data links will become obsolete and is no longer fully functional in today’s battlespace environment. MoD is constantly researching and developing higher TDL capabilities to enhance network and mission management in an operation.

Patrick Pierson, a retired U.S Navy Joint Interface Control Officer, is the Managing Director of Network Centric Solutions (NCS). Patrick has more than 23 years of operational Tactical Data Link experience, and has developed more than 30 Tactical Data Link related training courses, which he delivers to hundreds of students around the globe every year.
Prior to his retirement, he serves as the Theatre Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) for the Commander US
Naval Forces Europe and Commander US Naval Forces Sixth Fleet, and was part of the JICO teams for Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Allied Force, and dozens of Joint and Coalition exercises.
As one of the world’s foremost authorities on Link 16 and Tactical Data Link training, when not actually developing or conducting courses, he can usually be found speaking at a Tactical Data Link conference or designing Tactical Data Link related software applications. Over the past two years, Patrick has trained more than 1000 students in eight different countries.
